Singapore consortium gets down to work

A team is in city for detailed talks with CRDA

Exactly three weeks after the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) presented the Letter of Award for the development of Amaravati start-up area, a delegation of the Singapore consortium consisting of Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Pte. Ltd started dwelling into the finer details of master planning and infrastructure in what the Capital Region Development Authority officials described as a take-off meeting on Monday.

They will draw up plans for integrated development of the Amaravati core area, in consultation with the CRDA officials over the next couple of days.

Principal Secretary (Energy, CRDA and Infrastructure and Investment) Ajay Jain told mediapersons on Monday that the Singapore team took stock of the master planning exercise and enquired about the infrastructure to be created and other technical aspects to be prepared to call for tenders once the Singapore Government gives its approvals.

It was on May 15 that the GoAP and Amaravati Development Partners (ADP), a joint venture floated by the Singapore consortium consisting of Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Pte Ltd., and Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC), signed the MoU for the development of 6.84 square kilometres of start-up area on the southern banks of River Krishna.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is going to review the status of master planning by Foster + Partners (F+P) at a high-level meeting on Wednesday. The London-based firm is expected to submit finals designs of the core government complex by the month-end.
