In a blow to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), senior leader and polit bureau member, Kadiam Srihari announced his resignation from the party at Warangal on Saturday.

A former Minister, Mr. Srihari has been maintaining a distance from the party for some time now ever since he had a heated argument with senior colleague, M. Narasimhulu at a Telangana TDP meeting. He did not attend the Visakhapatnam meeting which marked the conclusion of party president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's 2,835 km, 200-day long padayatra, titled ‘Vastunna Meekosam’, across the State.

Mr.Srihari said he was quitting the party as Mr. Naidu hadn’t been responding positively to the Telangana people’s demand for a separate State. He is likely to join Telangana Rashtra Samithi shortly.
