Carzonrent, a personalised ground transport service (cars and multi-utility vehicles) provider in business for 12 years, on Friday announced that it would roll out 400 cars of different types, offering them for self-driven services in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad in the first phase, investing Rs.25 crore.

At a press conference in Hyderabad, the company’s MD & CEO, Rajiv Vij, said that for the first time, they were launching a ‘Pay per Use’ programme that did not have any hidden charges. This service would be expanded to cover 17 cities across the country, he said, adding that in Hyderabad alone, 200 cars each for inter-city and intra-city travel and 100 exclusively for self-drive option would be rolled out.

Asked about the size of the market, he said it was estimated at Rs.40 crore a month and Rs.500 crore out of Hyderabad alone. They were confident of bagging at least 20 per cent of the volumes in two years. Carzonrent currently has a fleet of 6,500 cars across 37 operating units and 65 locations across 17 cities, including seven airports.

The USP of Carzonrent, he said, was quality, reliability, safety and transparency and it was a constant endeavour to provide hassle-free services. Making a presentation, Mr. Vij said that in a month’s time Carzonrent would complete the process of tying up with operators in 145 countries and be able to offer self or chauffer-driven services from multiple locations in the 145 countries.
