The CPI-led Dalit Hakula Porata Samiti and Andhra Pradesh Girijana Sangham have expressed fears that a chunk of the over Rs. 6,200 crore allocated under the SC/ST Sub-Plans for the betterment of Dalits and forest dwellers by the State government may lapse.
Releasing an open letter to MPs, MLAs and MLCs cutting across party lines at a press conference here on Tuesday, DHPS State convenor K. Subbarao urged them to prevail upon the State government to improve amenities in the habitations of SCs and STs on a war-footing using the over Rs. 4,420 crore unspent so far.
