School principal convicted for graft

Racherla Gurukula Patasala Principal K. Vijayalakshmi was convicted and sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment in a graft case by the ACB Court on Wednesday.

ACB court judge S.V. Narasimha Raju also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 on the Principal. She was found guilty of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 from G.L. Srinivasa Rao, a supplier of groceries to the school, on January 31, 2013 for clearing his bill for Rs. 1.25 lakh, ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police R.V.S.N. Murthy said.
