The Andhra Pradesh State Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation has prepared an action plan to spend Rs. 1,101 crore during the current financial year benefiting 99,464 people hailing from the Scheduled Caste communities.
To begin with, the corporation had decided to finance purchase of 200 cabs by unemployed youth by providing bank loans as well as subsidy, and these cabs would be hired to the government departments that are being relocated to Vijayawada. The corporation is also planning to purchase lands that would be distributed to landless poor in different districts and the District Collectors have been asked to identify the lands.
“The proposal would be submitted to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his approval and the corporation intends to provide interest-free loans enabling poor to purchase the lands,” Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakara Rao said. It was targeted to provide skill development and employment to close to one lakh people during the current fiscal.
The committee of persons of the corporation, which met here on Thursday, resolved to take back joint cooperative farming lands of the corporation, shopping complexes and poultry farms which were in possession of people not hailing from the SC communities. It was also resolved to request the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam board to allocate 17 per cent of the shops on the Hills and at Tirupati to unemployed SC youth and the corporation on its part would provide loans to aspiring youth, he said.
