Holding the politicians responsible for the current turmoil in the State, Samaikyandhra supporters vent their ire against the latter at their respective protest camps in Tirupati on Tuesday.
Members of the Sri Venkateswara University JAC hooked up a flexi banner of politicians (both State and Centre) near the varsity’s golden jubilee arch and pelted it with slippers, eggs and tomatoes. They criticised the leaders for keeping mum on the bifurcation issue and urged them to join the movement for a Unified State. The members later formed a human chain near their fast camp and disrupted traffic for a while.
Tirupati Samaikyandhra JAC members criticised the local MP Chinta Mohan for his indifference over the issue of bifurcation. They termed his recent statements on granting bank loans to women as hogwash intended to misguide supporters. JAC members opined that they would rather beg and support the employees instead of taking the offered loans. Women members of the Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS) took part in the JAC’s relay hunger strike at the MCT office and beat drums as a part of a special programme.
Meanwhile, TDP members staged a protest near the Krishnapuram Thana and burnt the effigy of Sonia Gandhi. Chittoor District JAC of SC and ST Organisations Chairman P. Paramasivan met YSRC President Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad and expressed his solidarity to his fast.
Sporadic violence
Miscreants, in the guise of students, broke the front and rear window panes of the buses parked in the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) guest house in the SV University campus, considering it a Central government administered institute. Officials have lodged a complaint with the SV University police station.
