Samaikyandhra agitators take a break

Samaikyandhra agitators in all most all town areas, seems to be took a break on Sunday after 31 days of their continuous movement in East Godavari district. Except relay hunger strikes and pujas by YSR Congress workers for speedy recovery of their leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, no major activity was reported from anywhere. However, Seemandhra Advocates JAC which met in Guntur on Saturday have passed a resolution in which they announced future course of action, which was released to the media on Sunday in Rajahmundry by its co-convener and AP Bar Council member Muppalla Subbarao.

According to Advocates JAC programmes, the resolution asked all the sarpanches in Seemandhra regions to convene a meeting in their villages and pass resolution for united Andhra and send those copies to the State and the Union governments. The other programmes include, writing letters to the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister and Sonia Gandhi, not to bifurcate the State, laying siege to all MLAs, MLCs, MPs and Minister’s houses on September 4, Jala Deeksha on 10, shutting down all Central government offices including PSUs on 11 and conducting meetings and shows with a cross section of people with their professions and their instruments.

Hundreds of YSR Congress workers broke coconuts in front of different temples in the district on Sunday and arranged pujas for the good health and longevity of their party leader Jagan Mohan Reddy who is fasting in NIMS, Hyderabad. Party Central Committee member Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi, youth wing leader Jakkampudi Raja, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, T.K. Visweswara Reddy and others led the party workers and leaders in these programmes.

Private Medical Practitioners and Registered Medical Practitioners (PMPs and RMPs) from different parts of the district assembled at Prakashnagar Round Park and staged a dharna from morning to evening. The medical practitioners distributed free medicines to the public in the area and sought their support for Samaikyandhra.

Women wing of Danvaipeta Walkers Club on Sunday conducted different games at Danvaipeta Park in Rajahmundry in support of Samaikyandhra. Vasantha Lakhsmi, Roja and Padmavati conducted the programmes.
