RTPP unit trips

Power crisis in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh worsened with the tripping of another unit in the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant on Thursday. Power generation was affected due to boiler tube leak, APGenco officials said. Together with the technical snag in VTPS, it has resulted in a shortage of 200 MW of power. As another unit in RTPP is under overhaul, the combined deficit in both the States is over 1000 MW, the officials said.
