Authorities chalk out action plan

The AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will kick off the 29th Road Safety week from Monday (April 23).

This year’s slogan is ‘Rahadari Suraksha--Jeevana Raksha (Road Safety--Protection to Life) and the safety drive will start on Monday and end on April 30.

The authorities have chalked out an elaborate action plan for the week-long drive. On Monday, awareness meetings on road safety will be held at region and depot-level for the staff of Transport, Judiciary and Police departments. On the second day (April 24), training will be given to drivers who have been found to be involved in frequent road accidents and on April 25, safety standards in RTC buses will be assessed and staff responsible for good maintenance will be felicitated.

Blood donation camps

On the fourth day, drivers who have missed their periodical medical check-up will be given the same and on fifth day, drivers involved in frequent road accidents, will be counselled along with family members.

Blood donation camps will mark the sixth day and on seventh day, awareness meetings will be conducted.

On the eighth and the concluding day, drivers holding an accident-free driving record will be felicitated.
