Rs. 10.68 lakh seized

Flying Squad Officer Raghavendranath heading a statistical survey team seized Rs.10.68 lakh from two persons travelling by a lorry in Urutur village in Veerapunayunipalle mandal on Thursday.

The duo identified themselves as cotton merchants and said they were taking the cash to purchase cotton. However, the unaccounted cash was seized as they could not produce any documentary evidence and was handed over Income Tax officials, officials said. The cotton merchants could take the cash by producing proper documentary evidence, they added.
