The technical snag was said to have been caused by lightning strike on a feeder in Thimmasamudram village. Transco AE Easwara Raju and staff were monitoring the repair work.

Officials released 3,090 cusecs from Pincha reservoir in Tsundupalle mandal, after inflows were received due to heavy rain in Piler in Chittoor district.

As water flowed over the low-level causeway near Chinna Bidiki Thanda in the mandal, movement of people and vehicles on it was stopped.

Heavy rainfall was recorded in Pulivendula, Jammalamadugu, Kondapuram, Proddatur, Simhadripuram and Muddanur mandals since Monday night.
