Rituals mark celebrations

Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavalu began on a spiritual note with the distribution of ‘Vepa Putha Prasadam’ on the occasion of Ugadi festival at the historical Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine in Bhadrachalam on Monday.

Devotees flocked to the temple from far and near to perform special pujas to the temple deity in connection with Telugu New Year.

Abishekam, Panchanga Sravanam, Tiru Veedhi Seva and a host of other rituals marked the celebrations and also start of the fortnight-long Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavalu.

A series of religious ceremonies and devotional programmes have been lined up for the Brahmotsavam festivities till April 14.

The mega religious event - Sri Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam of Lord Sri Rama with his consort Sita Devi - will be held on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami at Midhila Stadium in Bhadrachalam on April 8.

Maha Pattabishekam and Rathotsavam will be organised the next day on April 9. Hamsa Vahana Seva, Teppotsavam, Ashwavahana Seva, Simha Vahana Seva and others special religious ceremonies will be organised from April 10 to 14.
