Union Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh on Wednesday asked the RINL management to focus on cost reduction and quality.
At a review meeting on the performance of the Vizag Steel Plant, he expressed satisfaction and mentioned about the challenges ahead to survive in a competitive world. Earlier, he commissioned Turbo Blower-5 installed at a cost of ₹200 crore at the thermal power plant.
This will be a standby turbo blower to ensure uninterrupted supply of cold blast to Blast Furnace-3.
On arrival, the Union Minister was accorded a rousing reception at Visakhapatnam. He was accompanied by his wife Prema Latha, MLA from Haryana, Saraswati Prasad, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ruchika Chaudhury Govil, Joint Secretary, and Neeraj Agrawal, Director, Ministry of Steel.
