RIMS doctors and staff struck work protesting against assault on an assistant professor Durga Prasad by a group of persons in the hospital on Thursday.

A group of persons barged into the assistant professor’s room in RIMS hospital and beat him up alleging that he had misbehaved with a woman store keeper.

Complaint lodged

The woman alleged that she complained to RIMS Director Siddhappa Gaurav alleging harassment and when he did not respond, lodged a complaint with the police, but to no avail.

The assistant professor denied the charge.

The protesting doctors condemned the attack on an assistant professor and demanded action against the assailants.
