Govt. proposes power from waste

The government proposes to set up Waste-Based Power Plants (WBPPs) across Andhra Pradesh. “The idea is to generate power from waste and help the municipal bodies earn some revenue from it,” said Municipal and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, here on Saturday. Speking to reporter after visiting sewage treatment plant (STP) at Hukumpeta, Ava channel at Dowleswaram and Nalla channel he said the government would sanction Rs. 300 crore-Rs. 500 crore for each of the projects which were being successfully operated in China and Japan.
