Restrictions on airing exit polls extended till tomorrow

The Election Commission has extended restrictions imposed on telecast/publication of exit polls in the State till 6.30 p.m. on May 13.

The restrictions have been extended in view of the re-poll ordered in 29 polling stations in Seemandhra and Telangana regions on May 13. Accordingly, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal directed the print and electronic media not to conduct any exit poll and publish or publicise or disseminate in any manner the result of the exit poll starting from 6 p.m. on Sunday to 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The electronic media has also been directed not to air or display any election matter and stop coverage of election campaign or news related to political parties that could be classified as election matter during the period.
