Brahmana and Archaka Purohit Sangham’s State president Madhusudana Sarma on Sunday termed the remarks made by Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy against the former TTD chief priest, A.V. Ramana Dikshitulu, and Brahmins as “derogatory,” and demanded that the Minister tender an apology to the Brahmin community.

Agitation warned

Warning of an agitation against the TDP government, Mr. Sarma asserted at Adoni in the district that the State government was free to order an inquiry into any irregularities in the TTD, but it was improper for the Agriculture Minister to denigrate the Brahmin community.

Mr. Sarma said Mr. Reddy had become a Minister through the back door after losing successive elections.

Adoni Brahmana Sangham secretary Guru Acharyulu and leaders Garudadri Sadasiva Sarma, Satyanarayana Sastry, Sridhar Bhat, and G. Rajacharyulu were present.
