Thousands of students turned up for the Masula Yuva Mahotsav which began on the Hindu College Grounds here on Wednesday.
Amid colourful kites flying at the venue, students took part in drawing, singing and other cultural performances. Krishna District Collector Ahmed Babu inaugurated the Mahotsav.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Babu appealed to the students to draw inspiration from former President of India and missile man Abdul Kalam.
“Hard work is the only option before the student to achieve the targets and hence students must always rely on it,” said Mr. Babu.
Mr. Babu and Excise and B.C. Welfare Minister K. Ravindra greeted the students following interaction with the police and other walks of public life at the stalls. “The first edition of the Mahotsav is all about create a brand of Bandar, which once flourished with economic and political activity and a place that played a laudable role in Independence movement,” said Mr. Ravindra.
The AP Fire Services, Hyderabad-based kite house, Bharat Electronics, Machilipatnam, and a few government departments arranged stalls, demonstrating their services.
The students representing various schools spent the entire day at the Mahotsav, participating in the solo and group events.
