August 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 12:30 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of power employees relieved by power utilities of Telangana, during a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Friday, demanded that they be reinstate before any panel decides their fate on allocation.

Leaders from TDP, YSRC and Congress took part in the protest. JAC leaders -- Janardhan Reddy, Babu Rao, Giridhar and V. Anuradha said the staff were relieved unilaterally against the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. “The decision has simply thrown us on to the roads as the power utilities of AP have refused to take us in. We are living without salaries from June 11,” Ms. Anuradha said over phone from Delhi.

The JAC leaders said the Prime Minister’s Office had called them and Principal Secretary to PM Nripendra Misra promised to fix up an appointment with the PM .

Meanwhile, a lunch hour protest was organised by Telangana Electricity Employees’ JAC at Vidhyut Soudha against the attempts of the AP Government to push back the AP-origin employees into Telangana power utilities again.
