The ‘re-entry’ darshan tokens will be available to the pilgrims only when the waiting for the darshan of the presiding deity at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara stretches beyond two hours.
A decision to this effect was taken on Tuesday at a meeting chaired by TTD’s Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao at Tirumala.
The TTD introduced the system at its second Vaikuntham queue complex to enable devotees visit places of interest instead of spending time sitting inside the complex.
With the onset of the rainy season, he instructed the officials concerned to ensure the repair works were completed, fixtures and fittings rectified and all the cottages and guest houses primed up with hot water facility in a month’s time.
He also asked the officials to ensure dust-free environment at the ‘parakamani hall’ — the place of sorting and counting of offerings by the devotees — and urged the officials to act in coordination. He also desired the proposed construction of the new Parakamani hall (exclusively for coins) to be free from any kind of encumbrances.
Besides enhancing vigilance at Kalyanakatta — the place of tonsuring — he instructed the authorities to step-up surveillance inside the temple to check thefts if any at the mobile hundis.
Mr. Rao also sought department-wise compilation reports from various HoDs with regard to the complaints received during the ‘Dial TTD EO’ — a monthly pilgrim interaction programme and instructed the authorities to ensure the availability of gold, silver and copper dollars at the selling counters by the end of this week.
Service organisations like the Ramakrishna Mutt, Brahmakumaris and the Satyasai Seva Samiti should be identified and their services utilised in the Srivari seva, he said.
TTD’s Chief Engineer Chandrasekhar Reddy, additional FACAO Balaji, Superintending Engineer Ramachandra Reddy, deputy EO Rama Rao, Health officer Sermista and others were present.
