The district police on Thursday seized red sander logs worth more than Rs. 10 lakh and confiscated an SUV in which the contraband was transported at Nangamangalam of Gudipala mandal on the outskirts of Chittoor. According to police, the SUV had hit a motorcyclist at Kanipakkam temple town, some 10 km from here, before moving towards Gudipala road. Police chased the SUV, but the occupants abandoned the vehicle at Gudipala and fled. Police shifted the seized logs and vehicle to the area forest godown. A case was registered.
