Rebel trouble continues to haunt the Telugu Desam Party in more than one constituency, while the YSRC faces it one constituency.
In the Guntakal Assembly constituency, which has been allotted to the BJP by the TDP as part of the alliance, the BJP candidate Venkatramiah has filed his nomination.
However, when the TDP was reconsidering it’s tie-up with the BJP, the TDP had asked R Jitender Gowd to file nomination and he had done so in the presence of the TDP district president and sitting Penukonda MLA Parthasarathy.
However, with the alliance getting back on track, it is learnt that R Jitender Gowd is reluctant to withdraw the nomination and he has also conveyed the same to the party leaders.
The TDP leadership, apparently unable to pacify Mr. Jitender Gowd, is learnt to be bringing up the plank of friendly contest as far as the Guntakal constituency was concerned.
On the other hand, the TDP faces a different problem in the Anantapur Assembly constituency which has received the highest number of nominations, as seemingly innocuous nominations by TDP sympathisers might affect their chances of a win.
On the other hand, the YSRC faces a problem in the Puttaparthy Assembly constituency after former legislator Kadapala Mohan Reddy threatened not to withdraw his nomination although the YSRC ticket was allotted to Somasekahara Reddy.
Mr. Kadapala Mohan Reddy did not withdraw his nomination though YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy offered him an MLC seat after elections.
