The district administration is fully geared up for the conduct of general elections, said Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal.

After holding a series of meetings with officials of various departments and leaders of different political parties here, he said the preparedness of the district administration was complete.

On the security front, the CEO said 352 companies of CRPF personnel had arrived in the district, which was more than adequate.

More stress was being given to providing basic facilities like toilets and drinking water at polling stations, particularly in remote villages across the district.

The CEO later inaugurated a godown of EVMs on the Collectorate premises, went around the media centre, and viewed a cultural programme presented by groups campaigning for free and fair electioneering in the district.

District Collector G. Kishan, Superintendent of Police (Urban) A. Venkateswar Rao and other officials were present.
