July 05, 2015 05:28 pm | Updated 05:28 pm IST - ONGOLE:

Noted filmmaker K.Viswanath is ready to direct a 'Sagara Sangamam'-like film starring Junior NTR. Such a proposal came to the fore four times in the past through outsiders.

''I am ready to take up the responsibility if the proposal came from the horse's mouth'', he told reporters here on Sunday.

The legendary director, who took the tinsel world by storm with his great works like 'Shankarabaranam' and Oscar nomnated 'Swathi Muthyam', ruled out making second part of any of these great hits as they would not live up to the expectations of the people.

He said ''there is no mathematical formula for producing a hit film''. He said he was fortunate that artistes he directed had acted differently in his films, he added.

He ruled out penning autobiography saying ''my films are my mirror.'' The ace director who had won several national awards, said that he had not made films just for the sake of awards. He had got enough recognition from his fans as also the Government, he added.

He said that as a director he took full responsibility of any film that flopped. In a lighter vein, he said ''Draupadi had only five husbands. But the present-day directors have 100 husbands, he said referring to pulls and pressures faced by directors now. A film director needed freedom to give the best.

''I will not change. I will work the way I have been used to'', he said, accepting felicitations offered by his admirers at the first anniversary celebrations of Sri Nalini Priya Kuchipudi Nrutya Niketan here late on Saturday.
