Fire safety

The fire at the Biomax Fuels biodiesel unit saw 12 oil tanks burn down. It is unfortunate that the industries don’t appear to have learnt any lessons from the past and have placed all the oil tanks close by.

They could have located the tanks underground for better safety. The industries should have automatic fire extinguishers at the storage tanks.

The administration has to ensure that steps are taken to nourish these plants.

Special Category Status

The Centre has not taken any steps to grant Special Category Status to the State despite it being promised by Prime Minister on the floor of Parliament before bifurcation and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu making repeated visits to the Centre on the issue. It appears that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is deliberately out to hurt N. Chandrababu Naidu politically and economically.
