Badiger’s office, residence raided on Thursday

The Lokayukta Special Court, on Friday, remanded in judicial custody Arjun Hanumath Badiger, executive engineer at the Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation division (under the purview of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department) office here, till April 13. Judge S.S. Ballolli rejected Mr. Badiger’s bail application. He was taken into custody by the Lokayukta police after a raid on his house and office on Thursday. Lokayukta police seized Rs. 1.5 crore of unaccounted cash, 678 gm of gold, 1,700 gm of silver and related files during the raid.
