The V.V. Puram Police in the city have registered a fresh FIR and launched an investigation ino the rape and dowry harassment complaint filed by the daughter of a retired IAS officer against her in-laws, who are now said to be absconding. The complaint was originally filed in Bengaluru, but transferred to Mysuru as the alleged incident took place in the city. Police sources said they received the complaint late on Friday and a fresh FIR was registered against the accused, who belongs to an influential family in Mysuru. The complainant alleged that she was tormented for dowry, besides being sexually assaulted by her brother-in-law in November 2014, when she was eight months pregnant. Commissioner of Police M.A. Saleem confirmed that a fresh FIR has been registered and investigations are on.
Medical test
Bengaluru Special Correspondent reports. The complainant underwent medical examination at the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, in the city on Saturday. Sources in the hospital said a team of gynaecologists conducted the tests. “Test reports will in no way corroborate the victim’s allegation as she has reported it after five months,” sources said.
