Ramanuja chariot set to reachVontimitta

Sri Ramanuja sanchara ratha yatra, the special-purpose chariot taken out by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) management to observe the millennial celebrations, that commenced its spiritual sojourn from Tirumala on Tuesday, will reach the famed Vontimitta temple on May 12.

After covering Allagadda and Nandyal in Kurnool district and Anantapuram and Madakasira in Anantapuram district, the chariot will reach Bengaluru by May 15. After providing a spiritual treat to Kannada devotees in Melkote, Mysuru and Nanjangud up to May 17, the chariot will enter Kerala and conduct processions in Nilambur, Guruvayur, Tirumoozhikulam, Tiruvalla, Aranmulla and Tiruvananthapuram.

While reviewing the route map of the chariot procession’s first phase, TTD Joint Executive Officer (Tirupati) Pola Bhaskar instructed the officials accompanying the chariot to involve ‘Srivari Sevakulu’ (volunteers), Dasa groups and Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat (HDPP) members from the respective places for providing publicity ahead of the visit.

He also directed the officials to distribute small booklets or pamphlets highlighting the historical and mythological importance of the particular temple.

HDPP special officer N. Muktheswara Rao, special grade deputy executive officer Bhaskar Reddy, general manager (transport) Sesha Reddy and Srivari temple OSD P. Seshadri took part.
