Raids on brothels: 13 arrested in Madanapalle

The Mulakalacheruvu police of Madanapalle sub-division on Sunday night conducted flash raids on the outskirts of Madanapalle town and took 13 persons into custody on charges of operating brothels. The police seized Rs 52,000 from the operators. During the raids, which continued till Monday early hours, the police also took five brokers, nine customers and 11 women into custody.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the organisers used to bring women from Mulbagal and Bengaluru, luring the rich in and around Madanapalle. A case was registered.
