Local party leaders unhappy with Home Minister’s style of functioning

AICC emissary Amar Kale on Monday received a number of complaints from Congress leaders of Ranga Reddy district against Home Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy.

Mr. Kale met party leaders from the districts at Gandhi Bhavan as part of his visit to the Telangana districts to elicit party leaders’ opinion on the prospects of Congress in the next general elections.

Seeks feedback

He sought feedback about the party’s strength in Malkajgiri and Chevella Parliamentary constituencies represented by Union Ministers Sarvey Satyanarayana and S. Jaipal Reddy respectively. However, local Congress leaders went all out against Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy’s style of functioning and wanted the Centre to take an early decision on Telangana. Minister G. Prasad Kumar, DCC president K.M. Pratap, Medchal MLA K. Laxma Reddy and former Minister Kamatham Ram Reddy charged that the Congress party’s fortunes would further dip, if the leadership continued to repose faith in Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy.

Opposition to son

Mr. Prasad Kumar and others said that they would not agree to the candidature of Ms. Sabita or her son P. Karthik Reddy from Chevella Parliamentary constituency.

Interestingly, Mr. Karthik Reddy met Mr. Kale and said that his name should be considered for the Chevella seat, if Mr. Jaipal Reddy decides against fighting the next elections. MLC K. Yadava Reddy too staked his claim for the same seat.
