The PCC new president will launch a bus yatra on Friday to instil confidence among the party cadre.

In an attempt to give a new lease of life to the beleaguered Congress, which has almost lost its glory in the district post State bifurcation, PCC new president N. Raghuveera Reddy will launch a bus yatra on Friday. Prominent Congress leaders including Union Minister of State for Communication and Technology Kili Kruparani, former Minister Kondru Murali, Srikakulam DCC president Dola Jagan and others are striving hard to make the programme a grand success.

Though many leaders including former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao have left the party, the Congress leaders say that its network at the grass-roots level remains intact with the slew of developmental activities being taken up by the Congress government in the last ten years.

The party leaders are making elaborate arrangements to welcome Mr. Raghuveera Reddy who will launch the election campaign officially in the State with the bus yatra. He will also take part the party workers’ meeting at the Indira Vignan Bhavan to instil confidence among the party cadre ahead of the elections.

“We want to convey the people that bifurcation decision was taken only after thorough consultations with other political parties. So no one has to right blame the UPA government. The activists will explain the same to the people during the poll campaign,” said Ms. Kruparani and Mr. Murali.
