The district administration has finalised the schedule, over a month ahead, for the Sirimaanotsavam of Pydithalli Ammavaru here. The schedule has been announced to make arrangements in time and to overcome the problems that had crept in during the last year’s celebrations.

This year the utsav will begin with Pandiri Raata on September 19 followed by Tholellu on October 2, Sirimaanotsavam October 3, Teppotsavam October 10, Vuyyala Kambala October 17 and Chandi Homam on October 18.

Collector Vivek Yadav and Superintendent of Police G. Pala Raju reviewed the arrangements to be made in advance with the officials of the Endowments, R & B, Forest, Police, and Fire Services Departments.

The Collector asked them to issue identity cards to devotees for the felling of the ceremonial tree and carting it to Humkumpeta where it would be shaped for the Sirimaanotsavam. He asked them to ensure that the ceremonial post and the chariot on which it would be mounted were kept ready a day in advance. The devotees participating in Paala Dhaara, Anjali Ratham and Yenugu (elephant) Ratham, will be issued ID cards and t-shirts.

He told the officials concerned to specify the timings for VIP darshan and also limit issue of free passes as it would help reduce darshan time of devotees waiting in queues.

Mr. Pala Raju said that in addition to bandobust, the police would set up CCTVs and drones and also GPS for monitoring traffic.

Vizianagar Utsav

The Collector also announced the tentative schedule for the Vizianagar Utsav from September 30 to October 2. However, the schedule is likely to change in view of Vijaya Dasami on September 30.

MLA Meesala Geeta, temple Executive Officer Bhanu Raja and other district officials were present.
