Samaikyandhra agitators on Wednesday expressed concern over the safety of Seemandhra people residing in the yet-to-be formed Telangana State, going by the spate of attacks on the leaders.

BJP spokesperson G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, who met the party national president Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday, sought that provisions for additional safety to the Seemandhra people living in Telanga region be included in the AP State Reorganisation Bill.

Apart from attacking Lok Satta leader Jayaprakash Narayan, the T-leaders laid siege to BJP senior leader M.Venkaiah Naidu’s residence in Delhi, openly threatening to vandalise his son’s properties in Hyderabad, he said.

“If this is the case of the leaders, then where is the safety for the commoners?, he asked and insisted on addressing the safety concerns before proceeding on the Telangana Bill.

He also demanded financial package for the backward Rayalaseema region.

Meanwhile, Lok Satta activists took to the streets and condemned the attack by Telangana activists on their leader. Meanwhile, at a demonstration by the Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samithi (SAPS) at Sri Krishna Devaraya Circle, the activists flayed the Centre for suspending the MPs for getting vocal against the bifurcation issue.

Kurnool Special Correspondent adds: Integrationists led by Joint Action Committee of the APNGOs obstructed vehicular traffic on the National Highway at Gooty Petrol Junction and Venkataramana Colony. The police arrested the AP NGOs leaders including Vengal Reddy and Sampath Kumar. Meanwhile, the JAC gave a call for bandh on Thursday. Chittoor Staff Reporter adds: The road blockades (Rahadarula Digbandham) organised by the TDP in support of Samaikhyandra stir passed off without notice here on Wednesday.

The TDP cadres blocked road at Murakambattu and squatted on the road for a few minutes, demanding resignation of the Union Ministers.
