An attack on a school led to serious differences among protesting groups in support of Samaikyandhra in Kurnool on Tuesday.

According to reports, the Joint Action Committee of Arya Vysya Sangham, which called for a bandh in city on Tuesday, ransacked the CR Reddy Day School near SBI centre. The assailant barged into the school and damaged furniture, windows, tube lights and caused extensive damage to the property.

The protesters argued that the management had no regard for the bandh call given by the group and was conducting the school.

Correspondent of the school V. Janardhan Reddy decried the attitude of the protesters saying that the JAC of schools organised a bigger protest in the district and created momentum for the Samaikyandhra struggle. Schools were closed for 12 days and protests were being carried out every day by the schools management. The classes were being conducted as per the decision of the JAC keeping in view the future of the students.

He contended that 74 Joint Action Committees were functioning in the movement and there was no coordination among the protesting groups. Even if each group called for bandh, there would be strike for 74 days and the career of students would be ruined.

Saying the members of the protesting group had business establishments, Mr. Reddy sought to know whether the shopkeepers would shut the business for 74 days.

Meanwhile, president of JAC of Schools G. Pulliah condemned the incident saying it would send a wrong message to the public who were fighting for a great cause. He called for unity among all the groups to achieve greater objective.
