Proposals for Rs.35,634 cr. investments in pipeline

A dozen mega companies have come forward to make investments to the tune of Rs.12,280 crore in Andhra Pradesh, while another 13 heavy and medium industries have evinced interest to set up units by investing Rs.782 crore.

Besides, various investment proposals of Rs.35,634 crore for setting up 200 units were ready for clearance in different departments. These units would generate employment for 10,000 people.

This information was contained in a book brought out to mark the completion of six months of Andhra Pradesh government, which was released by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday.

It was stated that works for establishing a mega food park in Chittoor district have commenced, while a Rs.300-crore mega aqua food park at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district would come up soon. A Mega Weaver cluster that would be beneficial to 25,000 weavers in Prakasam and Guntur districts, two other major weavers clusters and 31 mini-clusters have been sanctioned.
