Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Botcha Satyanarayana asserted on Wednesday that power tariff would not be increased, as recommended by the Discoms.

Talking to press persons at Tupranpet village in Choutuppal mandal, after inaugurating a private retreading unit, he said the government did not want to burden people with the tariff hike, as mooted by the distribution companies.

Replying to a question on Telangana, Mr. Satyanarayana hoped that the Centre would take a decision acceptable to the people of both regions in the State. Nalgonda MP G. Sukender Reddy was among the VIPs who attended the function.
