The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ramagundam is generating only 1,050 MWs against its installed capacity of 2,600 MWs following a technical snag in three units on Sunday.
The fifth unit of 500 MWs developed technical snag due to leakages at the boiler on Saturday evening and the fourth unit of 500 MWs also stopped power generation due to technical problem on Sunday. The sixth unit of 500 MWs was shut down for annual overhauling on Thursday. With this, 1,500 MWs could not be generated at the plant.
The authorities have intensified the restoration of power stations by taking up repairs on a war-footing. However, the sixth unit of 500 MWs which was shut down for annual overhauling would start power generation only after a month.
