The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to lift power cuts on industries from April-end when the rabi agriculture load is expected to come down completely.

This was stated by Chief Minister K. Rosaiah after he reviewed power sector-related issues at a meeting with Energy officials here on Tuesday. The meeting, which was attended by Chief Secretary S.V. Prasad, Energy Principal Secretary Suthirtha Bhattacharya and AP Transco CMD Ajay Jain, proposed to the four power distribution companies to sign short-term power purchase agreements (PPA) with the promoters of the merchant plants in the State.
