April 22, 2014 10:50 pm | Updated May 21, 2016 12:52 pm IST - TIRUMALA:

Manjunath, 27, a potu worker and native of Pileru, on Tuesday committed suicide at his transit-accommodation provided by the temple administration at Tirumala.

According to the police, the deceased committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling. The deceased, who attended to his duties in the morning, abruptly returned to his room and resorted to the extreme step.

The incident came to light when his colleagues, who also shared the quarters, returned from duty and realised there was no response despite repeated knocks on the door. They immediately alerted their higher-ups, who in turn informed the police, who swung into action and broke open the doors only to find him hanging from the ceiling.

The police have registered a case and investigation is on.
