The A.P. Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) will offer wholehearted support to entrepreneurs from the State for signing MoUs at the third edition of the CII Partnership Summit being held here from February 24 to 26.

Federation State president G. Sambasiva Rao, at an investors’ meet organised here to explain the opportunities available for investment in the sector, said they would offer the required guidance to explore enormous opportunities available in the food processing units as well as infrastructure.

He said they would offer handholding for signing MoUs to benefit the farmers and create jobs in the rural and semi-urban areas.

Food parks

Four food parks, including the one proposed by the Patanajali Group in Vizianagaram, would come up in North Andhra, he informed.

Stating that every problem would have a solution, he said the teething problems notwithstanding, the food processing sector for which Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had been offering several incentives, had emerged as a priority sector. A.P. Food Processing Society CEO Y.S. Prasad said the food processing industry, which is worth $193 billion, was expected to increase to $540 billion by 2020.

Scope for exports

District Industries Centre general manager Ramalingeswar Raju said food processing units had wide scope for exports and mentioned how the recent introduction of air cargo from the Visakhapatnam International Airport would help reduce the logistics cost. APCCIF chairman on sub-committee for food processing industries P. Bhaskara Rao spoke. Federation North Andhra unit vice-president Kumara Raja proposed a vote of thanks.
