Postal staff, GDS continue strike

Postal employees and Group D Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) continued their strike for the fourth day on Friday, demanding implementation of Kamalesh Chandra Committee report and the extension of benefits due to them.

Speaking at the strike camp at Kurnool head post office, All-India Postal Employees P III Union divisional secretary Y. Srinivasa Reddy, and All India GDS Union divisional secretary V. Lakshmikanth said the committee report submitted two and half years ago was yet to be implemented. The P III, P IV, Group D and GDS employees would continue the stir if the Centre and postal authorities did not respond favourably, they said.
