The seventy one electronic voting machines (EVMs) which were used for training and kept reserve with the Sectoral Officers to replace the faulty ones, were checked by Mr. Vivek Yadav at the college in the presence of thousands of TDP activists. “Checking of the EVMs showed that there were no irregularities, he said.

A day after the partial bandh was observed by the TDP cadre demanding a re-poll in this Assembly constituency, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal had directed the Guntur Joint Collector to inquire into the charges made by defeated TDP candidate Pothula Sunitha and YSRC nominee Yadam Balaji, who had alleged foul play during the transport of EVMs to the counting centre and misuse of the kept reserve.
