May 29, 2014 12:09 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:02 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Communist Party of India (CPI) has advised TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao not to make any provocative statements on Polavaram project but make efforts to solve the dispute amicably.

In a statement here on Wednesday, the CPI Andhra Pradesh State secretary, K. Ramakrishna, said Mr. Rao who is to take over as the Telangana Chief Minister should make efforts to solve the issue.

He said the Centre’s decision on merging some villages in Andhra Pradesh should not be opposed.

Though Odisha and Chhattisgarh were opposing the Polavaram project, efforts should be made to find a solution.

He urged all political parties to cooperate for construction of the Polavaram project arguing that Telugu people were waiting for the project for a long time.
