A 10-year-old physically challenged girl was allegedly confined by her uncle in a house for 10 days and raped and tortured by him with the help of two others.

A woman of Gadwal in Mahabubnagar district migrated to Kurnool after her husband died in a road accident six months ago. She joined her only son in a hostel and was living in a hut at Gurubrahmanagar near Bellary Chowrasta in Kurnool town with her two daughters.

The girl’s uncle Ramu, 22, an autorickshaw driver, told the woman that he would get her eldest daughter, who was disabled in one hand and a leg, treated in Tirupati and took her with him on June 1.

However, he confined her in a house and raped her along with one Venkateswarlu. The duo and a woman Sirisha subjected her to torture by beating her severely and putting chilli powder in her mouth.

As the girl did not return even after 10 days, the anxious mother repeatedly called Ramu’s mobile. He dropped the crippled girl at her hut a week ago and left.

The dazed girl, who had several injuries, told her mother that the trio removed their clothes and tortured her and put chilli powder in her mouth. The woman admitted the girl at the Kurnool Government Hospital.

Kurnool IV Town Circle Inspector Nagaraju Yadav registered a case and enquired with the girl about the incident. The culprits would be nabbed soon, he said.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police A. Ravikrishna visited the Kurnool general hospital on Saturday and enquired with the 10-year-old physically challenged girl and her mother about the girl’s confinement and rape and assured to arrest the culprits, who are at large.
