Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan on Monday demanded that the State government consider a proposal of making the spiritual town Puttaparthi as district headquarters.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan, who stayed at Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam on Sunday night and offered prayers at the Maha Samadhi on Monday morning, praised the concept of service to mankind of Sathya Sai Baba and also hailed the trust for continuing Baba’s legacy of serving mankind, especially in education and health.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan also visited the Super Speciality Hospital and was visibly impressed over facilities being provided to the patients free of cost. Later, the JSP chief visited Dharmavaram town and interacted with weavers’ community. On the occasion, he said that there was an urgent need for uplifting the weaver community and both governments at Centre and in State should focus on their problems by announcing various incentives.
“It is unfortunate that such a tremendous skill (of weaving fine silk sarees) is not being nurtured and saved for the future generations. It is the duty of the government to save these people,” said Mr. Pawan Kalyan even as he promised to take up the problems of weavers’ community to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ask him to rescue them from the crisis.
Meanwhile, four activists of the JSP were injured at the party activists meeting in Hindupur town in the district.
When Pawan Kalyan arrived at JVS Palace where the party meeting was organised, fans gathered in huge numbers and chaos prevailed in the hall leading to a scuffle in which four persons were injured.
