The Revenue Department has constituted a committee to look into available lands for capital in and around Vijayawada and will submit a report, said Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister K. E. Krishnamurthy.
On the proposal to revise market value of land in surroundings of Vijayawada and also elsewhere, he said a decision on revision of land value would be taken only after the committee submitted its report in about two months. He was addressing a media conference here on Wednesday in connection with the achievements of the department in 100 days.
Later he also issued a clarification that no decision or proposal was submitted to the government either for increase of land value in Vijayawada and surroundings or hike the registration charges.
Acknowledging prevalence of corruption among lower rung officers in the department, the Minister said the department was taking measures to curb corruption and stern action would be taken against the erring officers.
e-initiativeOn the decisions taken in the last three months, he said the State introduced for the first time in the country e-Pattadar Pass Book to the agricultural land holders with 13 security features based on the Web Land Data.
A policy decision was taken to seed the Aadhaar numbers with landholders’ account numbers and there was a proposal to issue only one e-passbook for each account-holder for all the agricultural lands held by him anywhere in the State. So far Aadhaar seeding has been completed for 76 per cent of undisputed title holders’ lands. A special drive for mutation of names by succession, joint patta sub-division and resolving title disputes (except cases before court) would be taken up to complete the balance seeding work by October, he said.
The department also started documenting the status of all government lands in Sarkar Bhoomi software and so far 21 lakh parcels of land data had been uploaded and balance would be completed by October. The data base would be utilised for formulation of schemes and projects.
Mr. Krishnamurthy said that the government sanctioned Rs. 45.69 crore for measures for protection of high value urban and semi urban lands by construction of compound walls. About 5,691 acres of land worth Rs. 4,070 crore had been identified for their protection.
The department has invited suggestions from public on the draft rules for the New Land Acquisition Act by October 15, he said.
