Panel on capital to meet Naidu on June 14

June 11, 2014 01:06 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:10 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The expert committee on New Capital constituted by the Centre is coming here on June 14 for a meeting with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The committee headed by Sivaramakrishnan visited Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Rajahmundry in May for identifying the new capital city and indicated then that it would visit other cities in its next visit in Rayalaseema.

Meanwhile, with the ruling Telugu Desam and its Chief Minister dropping enough hints that the new capital will come up in between Guntur and Vijayawada in view of its central location and road, rail and air connectivity and basic infrastructure facilities like drinking water, sources said that this could be the focus at the meeting with the expert committee.
