Panel arrives in Hyderabad to study AP division modalities

The eight-member task force of senior officials constituted by the Centre began its exercise to make recommendations on the security measures that need to be adopted after the bifurcation of the State.

The task force headed by K. Vijay Kumar, senior security advisor to Union Home Ministry, is interacting with senior police officials, including former DGPs, to get information about the law and order issues that are likely to crop up in the bifurcation process. Director General of Police B. Prasada Rao, former DGPs including H.J. Dora, K. Aravinda Rao and A.K. Mohanty besides city police commissioner Anurag Sharma, AP Police Academy director Malakondaiah are among those invited to participate in the interactions that began at the Centre for Good Governance here on Tuesday morning.

The task force is likely to interact with consultative members in law and order in general and the situation of Hyderabad in particular, before submitting its report to the Group of Ministers in the first week of November.
