The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Wednesday arrested Adivishnu Sampathkumar, Assistant Engineer of the Panchayat Raj Department from the MPDO office at Sitanagaram near Rajahmundry on the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The ACB personnel chanced upon the official while pursuing the case of Mukkamala Satyanarayana, former MPDO at Palacol, who was trapped and arrested on graft charges. According to information, the ACB officials, during the course of investigations, found that the property documents of the MPDO lodged in the lockers of a bank and those were reportedly registered in the names of both the AE and the MPDO. This led to the arrest of Mr. Sampathkumar. However, the ACB authorities are yet to come to grips with the assets possessed by the AE as the search operation is still on.
